I am one of Linden's Children. From 2014 - 2019, I did volunteer work advocating for children in the US legal system. That work changed my life. I met families that were struggling to hold on to each other through some horrific circumstances. I witnessed parents who were unable to retain custody of their children due to lack of resources. I collaborated with organizations that provided endless support to those families. I rejoiced at the results that emerged when community support and individual determination intertwined. I began to think about my mother's community in Linden, Guyana. The community in which I spent my most formative years. I am one of Linden's ChiIdren. I talked to my mother. We discussed the myriad ways we could provide support to children and families that were struggling to survive and unable to thrive. Families desparately in need of a helping hand. What could we do to improve the circumstances of these families? How could we help them thrive? In 2019, Foundation of the Heart was born. We started Foundation of the heart with a simple idea. Partner with families in need. Collaborate with local and international community outreach organizations. Find other advocates. Provide literacy, education, and financial services to help children, families, and communities thrive. With our support, families discover they have the tools to build better lives for themselves. We started with ten children. Ten Families. Three years later we are supporting 80 children. 80 Families.  We give Linden's Children a chance at a better future. We are loving hearts changing as many lives as we can. Give a little. Change a life. From my heart to yours.
